Science impacts our lives every day. Whether it's seeing the effects of a new dieting method, a drive in an electric car, or reading the weather forecast, science is behind it all.

As a student in engineering, or in the STEM area, it's crucial to understand what science is and how to utilize its methods. But what is good science? How is scientific research carried out in the best way? And what is the best way to communicate your findings?

In this course you will develop skills to identify, criticize and justify scientific methods. You will gain a basic understanding of the methodological and underlying philosophical questions and issues that arise in science. You will learn how to explain and justify scientists' choices between various research methods, and how to interpret research results.
