A/B Testing for Business Analysts
Summary
The A/B Testing course provides students with the foundational knowledge to design and analyze A/B tests to create business insights and support decision making. You will learn:
- The fundamental principles of experiment design
- How to design and analyze randomized design experiments
- How to design and analyze matched-pair design experiments
Throughout this course you’ll also learn the techniques to apply your knowledge in a data analytics program called Alteryx.
This course is part of the Business Analyst Nanodegree.
Expected Learning
Predictive analytics has proved to be a powerful tool to help businesses analyze data and predict future outcomes and trends. In this course, you’ll learn how to use A/B tests to predict the success of new product roll-outs, calculate the impact of website feature changes, and generate insights for other types business problems.
You'll learn this through improving your fluency in Alteryx, a data analytics tool that enables you prepare, blend, and analyze data quickly.
This course is ideal for anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in business analysis, but lacks programming experience.
Syllabus
Lesson 1 - A/B Testing Fundamentals
In this lesson you’ll learn the key skills used in A/B Testing, such as selecting units, choosing control and treatment variables, and creating control and treatment groups. You’ll also learn the important things to consider when choosing the experimental design for an A/B test
Lesson 2 - Randomized Design Tests
In this lesson you’ll learn how to set up and analyze randomized design experiments. You will learn how to make key decisions on the design of the experiment, such as the unit of diversion, the duration of the test, and variable selection. You’ll also learn how to interpret and apply randomized design experiment results.
Lesson 3 - Matched Pair Design Tests
In this lesson you’ll learn how to set up and analyze matched pair design experiments. You will learn how to make key decisions on the design of the experiment, such as matching control units to treatment units, determining the duration of the test, and selecting control and treatment variables. You’ll also learn how to interpret and apply matched pair design experiment results.
Lesson 4 - Matched Pair Practice
This lesson contains an end to end example of a matched pair A/B test. You’ll have the opportunity to build the model step by step, with instruction and quizzes along the way. You’ll also learn how to use trends to match target and control units, and gain practice in interpreting results.
Required Knowledge
- No programming experience required.
